I don't like it. It's like watching Paula Deen and trying not to get pissed because you can't have the amazingly awesome looking fatty foods she is making.
She looks so happy... sigh...
I've never wanted certain foods as much as I do when I'm watching my weight. Everything screams out to me! At the grocery store, those cakes, cookies, pizzas, fried chicken, etc, etc look so good! Every commercial makes me want whatever food they're eating... well, the fast food/ pizza/ candy ones... not so much the Fiber One/ healthy commercials.
I find I say the words, "Oh, that looks so good..." like a million times more than I would if I weren't on a diet. Is it just because I am very conscious of what I can't have, so it jumps out at me? I'm not alone, am I?

You are not alone trust me! I have found however that the more you fill your body with what it needs those cravings do start to go away. I won't say they will go away completely but it won't be as much.
I am right there with you. I never normally crave certain things until I am on a "diet" and it is hands off. I had to stop watching the food channel and the only online food porn I read view now is from healthy bloggers, which has helped.
That's the great thing about life...you are never alone. "Dieting" can really make my crave things too, but I found that cutting down on sugar in snacks (even the 100 calorie ones) has really helped keep the crave monster at bay ... that and a lot of water.
Tonight my hubby and i went out to dinner for Vday. I ordered grilled chicken and steamed veggies. We also got a articoke spinach and chicken pizza for an apptizer (it was on a tortila shell). But then the table next two us each got a big fat piece of cheese cake. CHECK PLEASE. I was mentally eating it with the lady. Instead we went for coffee and split a plain choc. bar (it is valentines day).
You aren't the only one! I don't think we say it more we just realize we are saying it!
Well.... I actually watch the food network when I'm on the elliptical. It's really wierd, I know. But usually there's cooking shows on or cooking on a budget type shows and it encourages me to try something new or to be more creative in my cooking. Although I have watched a few dessert shows.... but I'm exercising - so it's as tempting.
Happens all the time to me too! :_(
