Where's my gung ho?

When I first got going on this weight loss journey, I was all in. I was so "gung ho", meaning I was strict with myself and had so much motivation. Nothing got in my way. And then I took a little one month break or so over the holidays (but didn't gain), and then again got back on board with being very strict, and that lasted a good long time!

I'd say that lasted 6 months. Then life got a little busy and I moved, so my routine got rocked a little bit. And now I am more settled, and able to eat well and work out again, but the motivation is waning.

Now I am still motivated, but just not as much. I have been working out on the elliptical. And I have been trying to eat well. Key word is "trying." Before I wasn't "trying" to eat well; I just was eating well. And the difference there is the motivation and the determination.

I'm a little more lax now. I have some wine every now and then, eat what I want, maybe snack on a few too many Wheat Thins or something.

I'm not giving up or anything. I am still weighing myself and focusing on losing weight in a real way; it's just the gung ho-ness is missing. Where'd it go and how do I get it back? I miss the gung ho-ness!

You are the second blogger I have read this from today! Huh, maybe it is a summer heat thing?

I suggested that you buy a really adorable piece of clothing that is one size too small and hang it where you will see it alot!

I lost my gung ho for 3-4 months. Now it is back and better than ever. I don't know what happened to me but I survived it and I'm ready to go full blast into losing more weight.

You can pull through it.

You made a decision the day you began all this...way back that said TODAY I'm going to do this and I'm going to make a difference and I am going to achieve my goal. So...determination wanes. Thats life. Set a new day. Say again, with the same determination and vigour that you have had enough of not getting there and from this day, its back to the plan, back to the determination to achieve. Commit to it and you're back on your way. This makes it sound too easy when in fact its hard? Not for you because you know and we know you can do it.

You're not alone! That's why I appreciate everyone's blogs. They motivate me. Your blog today reminded me that's normal, and OK, to be unmotivated. What's important . . . you're not giving up. Your motivation will hit you again with that kind of a spirit!
Thanks! Kara Lea

Maybe this is your brain telling you to get used to the new you, feel it, live with it, be happy with it. Then when your brain is ready, your body will be ready and before you know it you will be at your goal and beyond!! You will find that kick start again, sooner then you think!!

I love seeing your ticker and seeing those 75 pounds - gives me inspiration that I can do it too!Let's keep doing it together!
