Day 1 of Wkend Challenge- Check.

Day 1 of my weekend challenge was completed successfully. I resisted temptation to eat or drink anything bad. I counted all my points and stayed under my daily 33. Before dinner, we had grilled shrimp appetizers, which are very low cal. I also didn't drink anything even when my family did (maybe too much). A serving of alcohol on Weight Watchers is 4 pts, so I just don't even like to get started. Plus, after I have two drinks, I'm more likely to say screw it and keep drinking, and then I will also eat more. So for me, it's just a bad idea. And then for dinner, everyone had steak, but I opted for chicken, which was really good. We also had asparagus. I am proud of myself for staying mindful.

Today, I worked out in the morning and made a smoothie, instead of what my family had, which was a ham/ egg/ cheese/ bread casserole and bacon that smelled so good. I also made my own lunch of turkey and cheese on a tortilla. My sister made loaded baked potatoes, with like half a bag of shredded cheese and bacon bits. I so would have rather had that. Maybe I'll make a healthy version later this week.

Tomorrow, my sister really wants to go to a Mexican restaurant, so I don't know. Maybe I won't go, or just go and be tortured because I can't have the chips and guacamole or any good meal. We'll see.

Tomorrow is my weigh in day, and I doubt I'll lose even 2 lbs (since as of today, I've only lost 1.2), which would suck since I've been working so hard... but I'm prepared. Stupid ass scale.

Attitude of Gratitude: I'm grateful that I have come a long way and am dedicated now. Also grateful that my family knows I'm being healthy so they try to have healthier dinners/ appetizers.

Sounds to me like you did brilliantly to resist the temptations and I really agree with you about the effect alcohol can have on the resolve.
I realise a small loss isn't what you want but getting through a temptation weekend with a loss would be great

It sounds like you are on track, dont worry about the scale. I have worked out every day this week and ate right and i was only down 1.4. But i know i did what i was suppose and i have no regrets.

Sounds like you did amazing!! Don't worry about what the scale says. You know you've done your best, and that's all you can control.

Awesome sticking with it! Alcohol is always dangerous for weight loss. I'm like you- two drinks and then I just think, "what the hell-this is so much fun, I'll make up for it later this week"...dangerous, lol.

Hey sounds like you're really trying hard. Remember you can indulge occasionally just retain your portion control. No more than a cup of bad food or a half a cup depending on what it is. That sort of thing. Be proud of the little things and reward yourself in non-food ways. I think you're on the right track.

Ugh, I'm totally with you on alcohol. I have no problems with it for any reason except that I refuse to drink my calories. I don't get very many calories a day so I am certainly not going to waste what precious few I have on alcohol.

Also, like you said, drinking lowers your inhibitions and then you make bad food choices. I get the WORST drunk munchies and eat virtually everything in sight, lol, so it's best to just abstain from alcohol, mostly, altogether.

Hope the scale shows you some love!

Remember that dieting is not about starving or staying away from "all the good food". It's about understanding what your body needs and why it craves other things.
