So here's a riddle. What does working out for over an hour 7 days a week and eating well get me this week? Apparently a 1.1 lb gain! Yeah!!
My weigh in is tomorrow so I can't officially be pissed, but today the scale says 187.4, which is 1.1 lbs higher than last week. GRR!!!

Are your clothes looser? Seven days a week is overdoing it a bit - muscles will hold water. They need rest days to heal. If you have built muscle (which I imagine you have) muscle weighs more than fat but it is more dense so takes up less room. You can weigh more and be smaller. My son is in the Army and lifts weights. He always weighs too much according to the charts and they have to allow for his muscle.
I wonder if you're building up bigger LEANER muscles with all that work. Don't be discouraged..you KNOW things are going well, you don't need scales to tell you....if you keep doing all the right things the numbers will come right

It happens! Sometimes we just have to accept that we are leading a healthier lifestyle and our body will change...even if the scale isn't giving us the proof.
I hear you sister that was me last week too. I am hoping tomorrow I continute to see good numbers before Monday offical weigh in!
It must be muscle. There is no other explanation. BUt if you feel good in your clothes, that is the main thing. Keep going!!
Don't get too discouraged. I go through the same thing. The scale hasn't gone down a lot but my clothes fit looser and I have actually gone down 1 pants size while only losing 5 lbs on the scale. I try not to focus too much on the scale and instead focus on how I feel and how my clothes are fitting.
ARGH, I totally understand you're frustration! Been stuck for the last month and I track well and workout out like crazy lately, but the clothes don't lie. I feel much better, stupid scales tho!! Good luck tomorrow, the #'s might change for you.
Maybe water retention from building up muscle? (That's what causes the first quick "bulge"...)
All of your comments said what I wanted to say. Is this intensity of exercise new to you? If yes, than it is 100% muscle building and retention. Remember 80% of weight loss is FOOD, exercise is 10%, genetics is 10% then add another 100% for mental.
I consider exercise the icing on my cake. It changes my shape and makes me feel great BUT it's not what makes the scale lower. It's all about my food choices.
Ugh! I hate when the scale dosn't reflect all of your hard work. Here's hoping for a better number tomorrow. (Its amazing what a night of sleep can do *I lost 3 lbs overnight before*)
7 day a week and for 1 hour?! we yeah of course you are going to gain, your body is storing energy... you're doing endurance training that's not for weight loss.
