C25k still a b*tch

Yep, I said it. I'm not really one to swear too much, but man this C25k thing (and by that, I mean running in general) sucks! It was warmer today so I did Week 2 Day 4... yeah there are typically only 3 days per week, but I am doing week 2 over again because running for 90 seconds is still hard.

I did the whole thing and was so beat when I got home. I just laid on the floor with the fan on high for like 15 minutes.

And I usually do somewhat high intensity on the elliptical for 90 minutes! Shouldn't that make me more in shape than I feel when I run?? Today I just did the C25k for 30 minutes and was done with my workout. I debated doing some time on the elliptical but was so tired and over it so I didn't.

I read a lot of blogs with people who run all the time, and I don't know how you do it! I don't know when I will ever be able to run a whole mile without stopping. It just feels sooo far off. So you guys are my heros!

Attitude of Gratitude: Finally warmer weather, hopefully it sticks around!

It will come, and when it does you will be shocked at how long you can run. It's not a contest, you have the time to repeat steps. Don't get discouraged. Stick to it and your stamina will improve! Trust me!

Funny- I just got back from a run outside and did the same thing with the fan! Sweat + Cool Air = Amazing!

I know you know this, but it will all come with time and consistent effort. Don't compare yourself to anyone else, but yourself. Remember that you didn't run at all before this and be proud of that!

Have a great weekend!

I haven't even tried running yet...I'm impressed you're starting out. I bet in no time you will be posting pics of your running success. I am impressed with how hard you're working

I am so impressed that you hate running so much but are sticking with it! Good for you!

You will get there, eventually. Just have to be patient.

The BF uses the treadmill at the gym for up to 90minutes at good speed. Two days ago he went running outside because he didn't have time to get to the gym, and guess what? His running speed is about as low as my walking speed is high (6mk/h). Running outside *is* way more difficult, and it takes practice to find the right rhythm and style.

Running does suck! It will always suck-but it will start to suck less and less the more you do it! When I started running I couldn't run 100 m...I thought the same thing-I will never run any real distance-It just won't happen-But it does-And it will for you soon too!

I LOVE running!!! and I look forward to doing it on most days, somedays I can't believe I actually like it though haha! I started out slow (well, I'm still slow) LOL, I do believe outside is harder than on the treadmill but you have better scenary. I started using a program similar to C25K called 5K101 from Running Mate, it's a podcast you can download on itunes or on http://runningmatemedia.com/ I highly recommend it!! I don't know why, but I found this program so much easier than anything else I tried and knowing that the creator went through the same strugles with losing weight inpsired me. When I started I couldn't even run for more than 1 minute, I just completed my first 33 mins non-stop run last week. Good luck, You're doing great by sticking with it. :)
